Berlin Apartments

Renting a holiday flat is a much different type of holiday than most people traditionally are used to. Before booking a Berlin apartment, you need to consider whether this option is the right one for you. In some larger cities, you may find that your flat is on a high floor of a building without a lift. But you also may find a spacious flat awaiting you once you reach the top of the stairs. You may not have amenities like room service but you may have free Wi-Fi and a fairly well-stocked kitchen. Decide what type of holiday you want to create, and then pursue the type that best suits you. Of course, if you decide to rent a holiday flat, you can always communicate with the landlord or rental agent to get a complete picture of the flat you are thinking of renting before you commit to it.

Berlin is a wonderful city in which to stay in a holiday flat. And one centrally located section of Berlin where you might like to stay is Mitte . Close to the River Spree , it is a perfect area if you enjoy taking strolls and getting a close look at the local attractions. Wander past the Rotes Rathaus , or City Hall, Neptunbrunner , or Neptune's Fountain, and the red-brick architecture. Visit the many museums, including the Pergamon Museum or the German Historical Museum, and visit the area's churches. In the evening, attend the Deutsches Theatre (often with English subtitles) or a performance of the Berliner Ensemble, and then dine at the Michelin star rated Margaux Berlin near Brandenburg Gate. Or, if you prefer, check out the nightlife around Hackescher Markt . No matter how far you wander, you will always find your way home as Mitte is home to TV tower, the tallest structure in the EU.

To the south of Mitte , is a section of Berlin called Kreuzberg , a vibrant section of the city that is a mecca for artists. The area is known for its grand architecture, casual cafes and fine dining restaurants. If you prefer to stay in a more alternative part of Berlin, you may enjoy staying close to the many trendy bars and cafes along the Bergmannstrasse and the excellent bohemian shopping found there. If you tire of shopping and dining, Kreuzberg is home to many museums including the Topography of Terror, the Jewish Museum, and the German Museum of Technology. And flats near Viktoriapark with its waterfall monument and city views, or along the Landwehrcanal give visitors and residents of Kreuzberg many places to enjoy the outdoors.

For travelers searching for a more upscale holiday that is a bit off the beaten path, Charlottenburg may be the perfect location for your stay. This section of Berlin is known for its many parks as well as its high-end shopping. Take a walk around the lake at Lietzensee , wander through the flea market, the zoo or the forest in Tiergarten , or explore the ruins at the Kaiser Wilhelm Church. If you love shopping, make sure that your flat is close to Kurfurstendamm , a shopping area with designer shops and flagship stores, or KaDeWe , the Harrods of Berlin. Renting a flat in Charlottenburg certainly will make you feel like a citizen of Berlin.

If you decide to rent a holiday flat in Berlin, there are many unique areas of the city to choose from. With a little research, you can easily find the right part of Berlin for your visit, and create lasting memories.
